When do I apply?

Applications for the LITE program are open twice a year:

  • May through June

  • August through September

Training

  • All LITEs learn the basics on how to lead a song with a group of kids, learning the actions to all of our favourite songs, and more!

  • How to you get a group of kids to listen to you? How do you manage behaviours in kids of many ages and personalities? We will equip all LITEs with the tools they need to answer these questions and keep kids engaged in programming.

  • LITEs will be taught how to lead wide games and become confident in leading easy, no equipment games to play anytime, anywhere.

  • What does it mean to have a relationship with God, and does He care? Does God help us? Time will be given to explore these questions and so much more.

  • All of our LITEs will learn how to make sure the program is safe for both children, staff, and other LITEs.

  • Throughout the year, we assist with practical questions such as “How do I write a resume?”, “What should I ask in an interview?”, and “How do I save my money?”

  • An overview of what to do in case of a variety of emergency situations such as a bus accident, a missing child, a medical incident, or a lockdown.

  • LITEs will learn how to appropriately respond if a child discloses any type of abuse within our programming. They will learn the different kinds of behaviours legally labeled as abuse in Canada, what warning signs to look for, and the KOT reporting policy.
