Kids Club Coordinator  (beginning immediately)

The club coordinator would provide resources, mentoring, and support in the following areas:
- Curriculum ideas and materials
- Leadership skills development
- Child mentoring
- Team development
- Integration of the developmental assets in the club activities
- Supervision and direction of club leaders and volunteers

Training, Experience and Requirements:
The positions will be filled by candidates who have commenced or completed post-secondary education (diploma or degree) in a discipline related to childcare and development and have experience leading children's groups and activities. Mature applicants with considerable experience in the child care and development field will be considered without the education component.

 Summer Children Coordinator (13 weeks, $13.50/hr, 40h/week)
Start date: May 30, 2011*POSITION FILLED*

The Summer Children Coordinator will provide resources, mentoring, and support in the following areas:
- Curriculum ideas and materials
- Leadership skills development
- Child mentoring
- Team development
- Supervision and direction of summer staff and volunteers
- Plan and implement a daily engaging field trip
- All administrative tasks associated with the post (i.e. attendance, registration, cheque requisitions, letter writing etc.)
- Serve as liaison between Kids On Track and other partner organizations, specifically the Ranch staff for the camp at the end of the summer
- Position includes one week of over-night camp at Brightwood Ranch serving as Camp Coordinator
- Assist with fundraisers where applicable

Training, Experience and Requirements:
- Must be a returning student under the age of 31
- At least one year of post secondary education in a related field
- Experience in leading groups of children and activities such as, but not limited to: swimming, archery, gym games, roller blading, biking, hiking, canoeing, crafts, low ropes courses etc.
- Experience in leading engaging learning times
- Training in the following areas will be provided: Policies and Procedures, Behavior Management, Special Needs Awareness, Universal Precautions, Abuse Awareness, Presentation skills (i.e. drama, puppetry), Game leading, Storytelling
- Required to attend orientation and training days.
- A bus license an asset (or willing to get a bus license)
- Must have current CPR/First Aid (by July)

Summer Youth Coordinator (13 weeks, $13.50/hr, 35h/week)
Start Date: May 30, 2011

The Summer Youth Coordinator will provide resources, mentoring, and support in the following areas:
- Curriculum ideas and materials
- Leadership skills development
- Youth mentoring
- Team development
- Supervision and direction of summer staff and volunteers
- Plan and implement weekly challenging field trip for the youth
- Organize a weekly training time for the Leaders In Training
- Supervise all fundraisers for the youth (i.e. Capital City Clean Up)
- Plan and implement two 2-day overnight adventure trips for the LITES (i.e. canoe trip from Devon to Edmonton)
- All administrative tasks associated with the post (i.e. attendance, registration, cheque requisitions, letter writing etc.)
- Plan and implement a 3-day training event before the summer program begins
- Position includes one week of over-night camp at Brightwood Ranch serving as youth supervisor
- Assist with fundraisers where applicable

Training, Experience and Requirements:
- Must be a returning student under the age of 31
- At least one year of post secondary education in a related field (experience may be considered in lieu of education)
- Experience in leading groups of children and activities such as, but not limited to: swimming, archery, gym games, roller blading, biking, hiking, canoeing, crafts, low ropes courses etc.

Summer LITE Supervisor (11 weeks, $11.50/hr, 40h/week)
Start Date: June 13, 2011

The Summer LITE Supervisor will provide resources, mentoring, and support in the following areas:
-Assist the Youth Coordinator in all planning and events (see above)
- Supervise youth on the daily field trips with the children
- Provide on going feedback to the youth and construct a creative debrief at the end of each day
- Position includes one week of over-night camp at Brightwood Ranch serving as youth supervisor
- Assist with fundraisers where applicable

Training, Experience and Requirements:
- Must be a returning student under the age of 31
- At least one year of post secondary education in a related field (experience may be considered in lieu of education)
- Experience in leading groups of children and activities such as, but not limited to: swimming, archery, gym games, roller blading, biking, hiking, canoeing, crafts, low ropes courses etc.
- Experience in leading engaging learning times

Summer Children/Youth Supervisors (9 weeks, 10.50/hr if over 18, 9.15/hr under 18, 40h/week)
Start Date: June 27, 2011

The Summer Children Supervisors will provide support in the following areas:
- Leadership skills development of Leaders In Training teens
- Child mentoring
- Supervision of the children and leaders in training during activities
- Implement daily activities and learning times
- Assist with administrative tasks
- Assist with fundraisers where applicable
- Positions include one week of over-night camp at Brightwood serving as a cabin counsellor

Training, Experience and Requirements:
- Must be a returning student under the age of 31
- must be at least 16 years old
- Experience in leading groups of children and activities such as, but not limited to: swimming, archery, gym games, roller blading, biking, hiking, canoeing, crafts, low ropes courses etc.
- Experience in leading engaging learning times
- Training in the following areas will be provided: Policies and Procedures, Behavior Management, Special Needs Awareness, Universal Precautions, Abuse Awareness, Presentation skills (i.e. drama, puppetry), Game leading, Storytelling
- Required to attend orientation and training days.
- A bus license an asset (or willing to get a bus license)
- Must have current CPR/First Aid (by July)

Summer Administrative Assistant (16 weeks, 35h/week, $13.50/hr)

Start Date: May 2, 2011 *POSITION FILLED*


The Summer Admin Assistant will provide support in the following areas:
- all administrative tasks associated with the summer programs including: taking registrations, basic accounting, issuing receipts, database management, office reception tasks, file managment etc.
- Assist in the planning and implementation of all fundraisers including letter writing, soliciting for prizes, & event organization
- Some office administration duties i.e. time sheet management from staff
- Assist Program Coordinator as needed for fall program prep
- Supervise youth involved in  the Leadership Training Program during projects i.e. fall program prep

Training, Experience and Requirements:
- Must be a returning student under the age of 31
- must be at least 16 years old
- Experience in Microsoft Word and basic accounting abilities
- Experience in Quickbooks and Powerchurch an asset
- Training in the following areas will be provided: Policies and Procedures, Behavior Management, Special Needs Awareness, Universal Precautions, Abuse Awareness, Presentation skills (i.e. drama, puppetry), Game leading, Storytelling
- Required to attend orientation and training days.
